For the love of… at Zanzibar

Peter & The Wolf spread the love

For the love of… is the brain child of Marc Sunderland lead singer of Liverpool’s brightest rising stars, Peter and the Wolf.
A concept rooted in a love of local music and a desire to bring together the best of Liverpool’s musical talent in support of a charity as worthy as C.A.L.M. – Campaign Against Living Miserably. And it’s growing. Really quickly.
What started off as an all day event in the Zanzibar has blossomed into what will become a regular cultural event in Merseyside and beyond. With bookings already in place for the second event and plans for a sister event in Manchester, plus rumblings of an open air festival-type-affair in the summer, ‘for the love of…’ is going from strength to strength.
Sunderland said: “That’s the beauty of it all you see. For the love of…well, whatever you want to fill the gap with – Liverpool, sunshine, flowers, music – it’s up to you!
“We’re helping you out by suggesting C.A.L.M., but we also love our sponsors and support team – The Zanzibar Club, Fred Perry Subculture, Tuborg, Dolphin Music and Another Media
.
For the love of…’ isn’t just about the music either. We’ve had some of the most talented artists and designers from Liverpool, London, Italy and Norway working with us to help provide a platform for visual art too.”
The first event is on Saturday February 28 at the Zanzibar Club on Seel St. It’s an all-day event with bands, DJs, visuals and a raffle – prizes including equipment from Dolphin Music, clothing from Fred Perry and other goodies from our friends at Chibuku and Voodou. Doors open at 1pm, and you get to be a part of it all for just a £1 donation to C.A.L.M.
Line-up includes:
