Coffee And Cakes For Funerals have shared a track called Sleep Patterns – with new material scheduled for later this year.
Joe Hazlett‘s heart-on-the-sleeve lyrically-charged soul is once again pushed to the fore underpinned by Mike Blackburn‘s gorgeous guitar runs and an undeniable pop hook.
The track arrives ahead of the Anfield quartet’s gig as part of Positive Impact‘s 10 year birthday showcase at the Epstein Theatre on October 21 before returning to the studio in November.
Take a listen…

Also on the bill are GIT Award nominee Esco Williams and rising Liverpool pop and soul breakout teenagers Chelcee Grimes, MiC LOWRY and Taylor Fowlis.
Toxteth-based Positive Impact is a youth training and production company giving young people, often from deprived areas, a creative outlet, and chance to fulfil their potential.
Fresh young talent on the night will also include 16-year-old soul singer Danny Pye and the PI Dancers.
Barbara Phillips, Creative Director at Positive Impact said: ‘I don’t mean to sound corny but 10 years really have flown! During this time we have produced shows in Liverpool and around the country (including a week at Edinburgh Fringe), received a Sony nomination and mentored young people to take up roles in the music and theatre industry.
‘The highlight being Esco Williams receiving a MOBO UnSung Award for 2012. It’s been a great year on a personal level too as I won a Merseyside Woman of the Year 2012 Award for Arts & Culture. I’m looking forward to what we will achieve in the next 10 years.’
PI’s 10th birthday showcase is at the Epstein Theatre, Hanover St, on Sunday October 21, doors 6pm, show start 7.30pm, Tickets £6, £12.
