Loved Ones, comprising Nik Glover, Richard Hurst, Jay Freeman and Ben Shooter, have retreated from the limelight since scooping the inaugural Getintothis Award back in April, however, they’re returning on November 3 to the stage where they picked up the prize – Leaf on Bold Street, armed with the spanking single and a host of new material.
The alt-folk quartet openly discussed re-recording their delayed debut abum, The Merry Monarch, after winning the GIT Award, and have spent the last six months putting the finishes to that eagerly anticipated debut.
Weekends Are Ours will be released via new Liverpool label Witchfinder Records on 7-inch vinyl in November, with artwork supplied by Liverpool designer John Biddle and a video shot on location in Lebanon by GIT Award collaborator and director Ian Gamester.
Loved Ones play Leaf alongside Southampton’s Pale Seas and several Liverpool acts set to be confirmed in the coming weeks before playing Soyo in Sheffield (November 5) and Northampton Labour Club (November 10).
