Hooton Tennis Club serve up taster to new EP ahead of Night Beats support slot.

Jasper. We’re not entirely sure if this is in reference to Conran or Carrott – but we’ll hazard a guess it’s not Jasper Tudor, first Duke of Bedford and uncle of King Henry VII.

In all likelihood, Jasper is just some dude. Some dude. Somewhere. Doing something. Probably not too much. It’s purely incidental, yet, Jasper is part of the finer fabric in the larger, developing picture of Hooton Tennis Club‘s expanding musical tapestry.

A carefree work of observational street poetry of the everyday married to breezy, undeniably catchy rock and roll. They find magic in the mundane and then line up a killer melodic hook to match.

We go to galleries once in a while and stand around and look at paintings all day, there was a Matisse that I liked, there was a Turner that we loved, we had it printed and he had it put in his living room – it looks great…

Check the enunciation and clanging emphasis on ‘Matisse,’ and we defy you to tell us you’re not sold.

HTC were in our top 10 bands of Liverpool Sound City 2014, next up they’re supporting Night Beats on June 4 at The Shipping Forecast, before lining up a second EP. Smashing.
