20 Albums for 2020: Grimes to Tame Impala, Wire to Caribou – the records we can’t wait to hear this year

Tame Impala

Another year, more new music and Getintothis’ Simon Kirk looks at the forthcoming top album releases in the first quarter of 2020.

New music. You’re either on the train or you’re not.

The Christmas period has been great for just binning off lists and new releases in favour of record collections filled with material from yesteryear. Where music is concerned, Christmas is always nostalgic time. Even January in some cases.

Looking at the new release schedule however, and it looks like the last two weeks of January are filled with new long-players from the heavy hitters of the indie rock pantheon from the last twenty years.

Below are 20 releases that we at Getintothis find ourselves quite excited about. Yeah, yeah, we’ll miss stuff, but more on that in a moment.

There will be more released during this time, however there are certain releases that we haven’t been given specific dates on. For example, there are mutterings of a new Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs album to land in April via Rocket Recordings.

Anyway, we have something else to announce…

Yes, we will have a new weekly column bringing you all the weekly new releases so you don’t miss a beat.

Anything that’s missed below will be picked up in this weekly column which will be published every Friday morning. Yes, we do like to cover all bases and we know you’re busy working and can’t be arsed scouring the Internet for all these releases, so don’t panic – just visit us!

So, with that, here’s our top 20 most anticipated releases in the coming months. Do enjoy.
