This is The Kit

Fresh on the back of their latest LP Bashed Out, Getintothis’ Adam Lowerson looks ahead to This is The Kit’s upcoming show at Leaf.

Bristol folk rockers This is The Kit are set to bring their critically acclaimed third album Bashed Out to Leaf Cafe with a show on November 26. The gig, which is brought to us by Harvest Sun Promotions, comes as a part of a seven date UK tour for the five piece which follows a summer of festival sets including Green Man and End of the Road.

Bashed Out, which was released in April earlier this year via the New York based label Brassland Records, was produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner and has been touted as the band’s breakthrough record, after having built a reputation with their first two albums Krulle Bol and Wriggle Out the Restless.

The group, fronted by Kate Stables and who are now based in Paris, have began to gain support from the likes of BBC 6 Music’s Cerys Matthews, and in recent years have enjoyed support slots with the likes of The National, Iron and Wine and Sharon Van Etten.

Having first emerged in 2008, This is The Kit have a warm, folk rock style, while their live shows have built a reputation for seeing them transform into a full bodied, electric psychedelic sound.

Tickets for the show are available now online and via Probe Records and The Brink.
