Steven Longworth M62 label launch

Straight off the back of their successful label launch, M62 Records have their second party planned alongside their next EP release. Getintothis’ Ste Knight has the news.

Liverpool’s brand-new bass label, M62 Records, is at it again, this time with a secret invite-only party to celebrate the launch of their next EP. As yet, the location is undisclosed, and won’t be announced until the day of the party on Saturday, March 26, but we can tell you that the line-up is a sound-system banger.

First up we got man like Rufa. Based in Liverpool but originally from Birmingham, Rufa has been making beats ever since becoming hooked on bass music when he first discovered dubstep. After finding like-minded people through club nights like Less Effect, Rufa has managed to collate an arsenal of dark, atmospheric, self-produced dubplates for your  listening pleasure.

Our second headline act is our very own Liverpool bwoy, Lucent. With Releases on Saucy RecordsLow Pitched and Trouble & Bass, our homegrown hero Lucent combines rugged b-line attitude with a dancefloor-friendly prowess that is built around a love for dirty 4×4 rhythms and the slickest of breakbeats. A passion for rave-y euphoria and killer grooves has seen his tracks win love from BBC Radio 1XtraLucent is one of the fastest rising names in underground UK bass music right now.

Support comes courtesy of the M62 rezzies, Long-ETubz and Jay Erangey. This one looks set to go off just as hard as the last party.

The new EP is sounding as strong as M62‘s debut record, proving that these guys have got what it takes to take Liverpool’s underground bass scene by storm. Built on a truly underground ethos, you can expect bass-heavy tracks from some of the North’s rising stars on the scene including ChigRufa and Tubz.

In the meantime, check Tubz‘ track from their previous release, below.
