After years spent slaving live and building the hype, The Stamp have finally dropped debut single FugitiveGetintothis’ Patrick Clarke has the exclusive first stream.

“We’re a word-of-mouth kinda band. Hear the hype then come the gig and see us, easy” said The Stamp‘s 19-year-old singer Connah Abraham when Getintothis caught up with him in March, phoning from the midst of a European tour.

He was exactly right. Something’s been brewing around The Stamp for a while, and thanks to a stream of knock-out live shows they’ve had surprising success doing things the old fashioned way, invited personally by Steven Morrison of The View to support them on tour after he caught them at the Zanzibar.

But now, the word is finally out of mouths, with debut single proper, Fugitive, released today and streaming exclusively below, on which the group come out with every ounce of the bracing, riff-soaked energy that was the foundation of their live hype.

Barely breaching the two-minute mark, it’s no-nonsense, straight-up rock ‘n’ roll, Abraham‘s vocals soaring atop blitzing guitars and a crucial kick of rhythm. In short, it justifies every ounce of the hype.
