With four local bands set to hit the stage at the hidden gem that is Buyers Club, GetintothisSiobhan Matos acknowledges a promising new event.

The concealed, charismatic Hardman Street hideaway Buyers Club only opened its doors a little over a year ago, but has fast become one of the city’s most interesting stomping grounds. On October 19 the venue will host a new and exciting urban clubnight Rebel Rebel. With four fresh, local acts on the bill, it promises to be an evening of infectious foot-stomping.

First on the list for the inaugural event is We Were Glue. This fun four-piece have been likened to bands such as Circa Waves, with a playful indie/pop sound is sure to have the crowd captivated.

Also on the bill are The Isrights; a collective of Liverpool lads with clever, topical lyrics, and a sound comparable to the early music of bands such as Arctic Monkeys. Taking the tempo down slightly, we have an exciting new addition to the Liverpool music scene in Cave Party. Around for less than a year, they are already making an impression, substantiating themselves with the release of four great tracks.

Closing the evening’s festivities will be Breakfast Monkey, who describe themselves as “an alternative/rap rock beast of a band that feeds on roaring riffs, rapid lyrics and turbulent beats”. The four-piece’s provocative sound will be a fitting ending to a great night, of diverse music.

Rebel Rebel takes place at Buyers Club on Wednesday, October 19; doors 7:30pm with tickets available on Eventbrite at £3 and on the door for £4.
