Dream Wife are the chosen ones to celebrate the opening of next year, Getintothis’ Nathan Scally has been looking into his future spouse.
DIY in association with Evol have announced their Hello 2017 Tour, is to take place this January, cramming new music fans into six intimate venues in different cities up and down the country. Icelandic-Brightonian three-piece Dream Wife are the headliners this year and will play along with some of the best new talent from each city.
The Liverpool leg will take place at Buyers Club on January 20 with support from local acts, AGP, HAARM and Her’s. Tickets will be released on Monday 14 November and sure to be a sell out with only a limited amount available.
Dream Wife, HAARM, and AGP are all coming off the back of blistering sets at Liverpool Music Week. Their incoming return will be welcomed by anyone who caught the slots.
The line-up isn’t your typical coming together of indie music, Andrew Gordon Parry better known as AGP and HAARM both have experimental influences flowing through their tracks. With more of a melodic focus to the music, they are both bands ideal for when you need to sit down and focus. Live sets from these two will likely be an experience you won’t forget.
Her’s sound much like some of the music coming out of LA at the moment, the two-piece draw comparisons from Mac Demarco with their stripped back sound. Ideal for a summer drive.
Headliners Dream Wife play a blend of punk and indie that would have mixed perfectly with Pink Kink had they been on the bill, but the choice to branch out and hit different ends of the local spectrum has to be admired. They will not disappoint in a live setting.
The dates for the tour are January:
17 London, The Old Blue Last (Free entry)
18 Brighton, Green Door Store
20 Liverpool, Buyers Club
21 Leeds, Headrow House
