With his sequin pants ready to hit the dance floor, Getintothis’ Craig MacDonald looks at the first set of acts announced for this year’s festivities. 

Following their triumphant inaugural event, Liverpool Disco Festival 2017 has announced the first set of acts for this year’s Baltic bonanza set to take place on Saturday 6 May.

With this year’s event celebrating 30 years of the infamous Southport Weekender, organisers have enlisted the powerful vocals of D-Train and house icon Ultra Nate as the first live acts to be announced for this year’s celebrations set to take place throughout the Baltic Triangle.

Further afield, Jersey sound pioneer Tony Humphries plays a four hour set at the Zanzibar as part of an impressive wave of spinners announced by the heads at Hustle, SunceBeat and Southport Weekender.

UK disco icon Joey Negro, New Yorks finest Danny Krivit and John MoralesJellybean Benitez, Nicky Siano and Lenny Fontana all represent the scale of this year’s event, while Mr Scruff, DJ Spen, Karizma, Rahaan, Graeme Park, Jamie 3:26, Red Greg and Mark Seven all look set to make this year’s event a party like no other.

With Get Down Edits, Neil Pearce, Craig Smith, Ronnie Herel, Terry Jones, Bigger, Andy Davies and Bozak plus plenty more names set to come, including this year’s headliners, this year looks set to build on the incredible inaugural outing from last year. See you under the disco ball!
