Slowdive

Seminal dream pop band Slowdive reveal European tour, Getintothis’ David Hall reports on the bands first new material in 22 years.

With three critically-acclaimed albums and seemingly unstoppable momentum on their side, Slowdive stunned the music world in 1995 with their split.

Twenty-two years into their hiatus, the Reading quintet are now back together and have rolled back the years with the recent release of new single Star Roving.

Having reunited in 2014, Slowdive toured extensively across the US and European festival circuits.

Getintothis’ Deep Cuts March gig at Buyers Club revealed

A headline slot at London’s Field Day festival will follow this summer, bolstered now with a run of intimate warmup shows in clubs across UK and Europe, their first outside of London since their reformation in 2014. Slowdive will take to Liverpool’s Arts Club stage on Tuesday, March 28.

Slowdive vocalist Rachel Goswell makes her return to the city following a recent triumphant outing with side project Minor Victories at The Magnet.

The forthcoming Slowdive shows will see the band playing a mix of classic and new material which should take the form of a new album in the near future.

Slowdive play the Arts Club, Liverpool on Tuesday, March 28. Tickets on sale 10am, Friday, February 17.
