Festival No. 6 reveal their headliners plus a huge raft of new talent, Getintothis’ Trent Bridge reveals the latest artists set for Portmeirion.
Franz Ferdinand and Friendly Fires will headline Festival No. 6 in Portmeirion alongside The The on September 6-9.
Joining the No. 6 line are also The Charlatans, Jessie Ware and, in a one-off affair, The Manchester Camerata Orchestra will collaborate with composer-in-residence Joe Duddell to perform the very best of Northern Soul and Motown classics on Sunday afternoon.
Also announced are Everything Everything, Django Django, Ride, Anna Calvi, The Horrors, A Certain Ratio, Gaz Coombes, Go Go Penguin, Hot Chip founder Alexis Taylor, ex-Mansun frontman Paul Draper, Lewis Capaldi, Tom Walker, Hak Baker, Amen Dunes, Hollie Cook, Genghar, Haelos, Gwenno, The Lovely Eggs, Warm Digits, Raf Rundell, Amber Arcades and Tom Williams.
Festival No.6 has also unveiled the first of its DJ/electronic line-up including one half of Masters at Work Kenny Dope, Roy Davis Jr, Hot Chip, London-based electro DJ & producer Erol Alkan, Willow, Honey Dijon and the UK’s finest disco operators Horse Meat Disco.
The first batch of names from the arts and culture bill have also been announced headed by the legendary lead singer of Madness, Suggs, performing his new one man show What A King Cnut – A Life In the Realm of Madness.
Author Will Self joins the culture billing along with Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller and Eimear McBride.
Andrew Weatherall curates his Psychedelic Faber Social stage, inviting fellow authors and artists to celebrate psychedelia including Dorian Cope, David Keenan and others to be announced.

Edith Bowman will be talking to Irvine Welsh about music and films, while screenings include Oxide Ghosts – The Brass Eye tapes (review) celebrating the 20th anniversary of the seminal satire show, and the classic French film La Haine with a live soundtrack by Asian Dub Foundation.
Viv Albertine will be discussing her new book To Throw Away Unopened with other artists announced including YouTube sensation Rants n Bants, Rob Auton, and a special tribute to Mark E Smith.
No.6 will also be marking a centenary of suffrage, with Stealing Sheep’s Suffragette Procession, curated by the Liverpool band. We’ll also be celebrating Frank Sidebottom’s love affair with Portmeirion, with rare footage and archive material of Frank in the Village.

Festival manager, Luke Huxham, said: “We always aim to raise the bar with our programme. Our mandate is to deliver a diverse but coherent line-up combining stone-cold legends like The The with the cream of emerging talent and this year is no exception. The seventh Festival No.6 is going to be truly incredible. We can’t wait.”
UPDATE: Hurts, Baxter Dury, Billy Lockett and Pale Honey have joined the bill.
Following their fourth studio album Desire, Mancunian synth-pop duo Hurts will make their debut performance at No.6 and will be joined by Baxter Dury who plays the Grand Pavilion stage this September.
Also announced, is Northampton singer-songwriter Billy Lockett and Swedish indie-rockers Pale Honey.
