Venue chain Maida Vale are opening a new bar in Liverpool’s Cavern Quarter, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley on an addition to the city’s live music spaces.

Maida Vale is opening its latest venue this August Bank Holiday, bringing live music, DJs and an eclectic mix of mod, ska, soul, funk, indie, Britpop and more to Liverpool’s historic Cavern Quarter.

Maida Vale, is one of Sheffield’s most popular music venues, and is now expanding its bar premises in Liverpool.

An area of Liverpool notoriously popular with stag and hen weekends as well as attracting tourists hungry for some 21st century Beatlemania, the bar will be hoping for instant success.

Gavin Richards, Managing Director, says: “We are delighted to be bringing Maida Vale to Liverpool, especially as our new home is in the historically important Cavern Quarter.”

Maida Vale celebrates the Best of British,” Gavin continues, “From the British Invasion and the mods and scooters of the 60s, through to ska in the 70s and Britpop in the 90s; Maida Vale is inspired by these important cultural moments and our music policy and venue decor is a testament to this.”

Maida Vale is inspired by nostalgia, but insist they are by no means stuck in the past, they reassure that every week will see live music from some of the UK’s best new and unsigned bands as well as established tributes and cover acts on stages over the two floors of the venue.

Maida Vale Liverpool opens its doors on Saturday, August 25 at 1-3 Temple Court in Liverpool.
