Slaves have released dates for their biggest UK tour yet and John Smith to play St George’s Hall as Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley looks forward to the autumn gig season.

Slaves have announced their biggest tour yet, including a stop off at Liverpool’s O2 Academy.

Ahead of their third album Acts Of Fear And Love (released August 17), Slaves have announced a nationwide tour this November, culminating with a headline show at London’s Ally Pally.

Already cemented is their reputation as a ferocious live act with major festival appearances under their belts, the stop off at Liverpool’s O2 Academy on Friday, November 16 is sure to be a lively affair.

Support on the night comes from Kentish punk raconteurs Lady Bird (the first signing to the Slaves Girl Fight record label) and bringing their own distinct brand of riotous noise caustic Aussie pub punks Amyl and the Sniffers.

Meanwhile, Liverpool Sound City have appointed Rebecca Ayres as new MD replacing Dave Pichilingi who is to focus on label Modern Sky UK.

Sound City returns to Liverpool on May 3-5 2019 once again across the Baltic Triangle with the first wave of artists revealed in the autumn of this year.

Becky said: “I’m excited to become the MD of Sound City, having been fortunate to work on it since it started and to be part of the creation of many exciting projects along the way.

Dave has always been very supportive of me and I’m grateful to him and his vision that has led us to where we are now, and taken us from Liverpool and out into the whole world. I’m humbled that he has put this faith in me, and I’m lucky to work with a fantastic team who will be part of the next stage of the journey.

In other tour news, Alabama band The Brummies will play Liverpool’s Studio 2 Parr Street on Wedesday, September 3.

They’re made up of vocalists and multi-instrumentalists John Davidson and Jacob Bryant, and drummer Trevor Davis and are named after their hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, with a nod to UK slang for the town of the same name.

They combined the psych rock vibe of the 60s and the soft indie folk of the 90s on their debut album Eternal Reach.

Singer songwriter John Smith will play at Liverpool’s St George’s Hall as part of a UK tour.

Smith has just announced the release of his new album Hummingbird.  It features appearances from Cara Dillon, John McCosker and Ben Nicholls, and will be released on October 5 on his own Commoner Records label.

New promoters Vinyl Junkie Live are bringing Polar States to Liverpool’s O2 Academy for a Christmas blowout.

They’re set to release their new single Oxygen tomorrow (August 9), and will play the venue on Friday, December 14.

The Nickajack Men will play at Sound Food and Drink as part of a string of dates celebrating new releases, Changed Ways and Different Languages.

The Falkirk band are one of the many Scottish outfits set to blow up towards the back end of this year and come to Liverpool on Friday, September 7.

Baltic Triangle’s On Air reveals Bank Holiday two day festival lineup

JMSN will return to the UK and play The Jacaranda: Phase One as part of a UK tour.

Hailing from Detroit, JMSN has emerged on the international stage as one of the music industry’s most sought-after performers and producers. He’ll play at the new home of Getintothis‘ Deep Cuts on Friday, November 23.

Blackpool fourpiece GESS will play at EBGBs next month.

The rock outfit unfurl huge blues sounds with some funk thrown in for good measure and come to the Seel Street venue on Saturday, September 15.

The Blinders have unveiled a new video for their track, Brave New World, filmed in Liverpool venue Hangar 34.

The Doncaster band, formed in Manchester are on a rampage to bring their anarchic gig happenings to the UK and are setting sail for a full tour this autumn.
