Black Lips announce November Arts Club date

Black Lips

Black Lips are back in town, announcing a winter date at the Arts Club. Getintothis’ Steven Doherty has all the details.

US fuzzy garage punksters Black Lips are back in Liverpool for the first time since their remarkable performance at 2014’s Liverpool Music Week.

Fresh from announcing a summer European tour, which includes festival appearances at Benicassim and Body And Soul over in Ireland, but contained no UK dates, they have just released details of, what is at this stage, a one-off date at Arts Club on Wednesday November 13.

The band, formed in 1999 and whose eighth and most recent album Satan’s Graffiti Or God’s Art was released back in May 2017, are well known for their frenetic, riotous shows, including at times, urinating and vomiting as well as the usual stage invasions.

Rock ‘n’ roll.

They last appeared in the UK in Manchester supporting The Moonlandingz on one of the last dates before their sabbatical and have been relatively quiet on the live front since then.

Tallies, Irene & The Disappointments, Milo Seabird: Shipping Forecast, Liverpool

No further details of any other UK dates or word of any new material has emerged, but with such a tour lined up, then surely new stuff would be on the horizon.

Supporting them will be fellow Americans Surfbort, who are signed to Julian Casablancas’s Cult Records, and are unlikely stars of a 2019 Gucci campaign, as well as just being announced as support to Idles on their Autumn US dates.

Tickets, which are bound to be in short supply and big demand, are on sale now.
