The Getintothis top five stories of the week

As the first week of May draws to a close, Getintothis’ Max Richardson brings you the highlights of the week over on Getintothis.

Afternoon all! Well it’s been another sensational week of music, with some great new music on the radar along with some stunning gigs.

This writer has spent the weekend covering Liverpool Sound City, which has been absolutely phenomenal. A real highlight of the weekend came in the form of Dabda over at the outdoor stage at Constellations, who stunned the crowd with their impeccably tight indie grooves. Absolutely one to watch for the future.

A current favourite of this writer with regards to TV is the amazing Maniac on Netflix, which seems surprisingly underrated. A great blend of humour, subtle writing, and exquisite directing meld together to form a truly cracking series with a really unique stylistic flair.

Also – this writer had the privilege of seeing the production of Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street currently showing at the Liverpool Everyman theatre. It’s an absolute must see, with a great cast delivering a show almost verging on the fringes of storytelling rather than a conventional theatric performance.

As ever, we’re always on the lookout for new writers and photographers to join our team, if you fancy getting involved, please do drop us a message over on any of our social media pages, and someone will be in touch. Great to have some new blood!

Anyway, without further ado, here are the top five stories and gigs of the week:
