A Portrait of British Songwriting comes to Liverpool’s Bold Street Coffee, Getintothis‘ Steph Kettle prepares for a brew and a browse.

From Friday July 8 until the Sunday August 7, city centre hangout Bold Street Coffee presents a variation of images and sound, which will include artists talking about their work, inspirations, life on the road and the process of songwriting.

The exhibition kicks off on the same day of Liverpool Biennial 2016 and will feature artists from Domino Publishing, a well known music publishing house that, over two decades, has worked with popular British artists including Jesus and Mary Chain.

Former Beta Band man and Domino Records signee Steve Mason explains the craft of songwriting to be a blend of “beauty and compassion, joy and love and  emotion and heartbreak and all the things that go to make us the complicated, wonderful  things that we are.”
