Getintothis‘ David Hall reports on an impending Baltic Triangle gig at summer’s end from the reggae legend.
With three albums already under his belt and international touring an everyday occurrence for the son of Bob Marley, Liverpool’s District now looks forward to welcoming Julian ‘Ju Ju’ Marley in August.
The internationally acclaimed roots reggae star calls into the city as part of a short tour of the UK, taking in just five other exclusive dates.
Grammy-nominated Marley is set to play hits like Boom Draw, Lemme Go, and Violence in the Streets, backed by his eleven-piece band alongside a very special support slot from Iba Mahr.
Jamaican-born Mahr is a young sensation in his own right for touring extensively throughout Europe’s festival circuit, as well as in the West Indies and US.
Along with his brothers David (better known as Ziggy), Damien and producer Stephen, Julian Marley is one of Bob Marley‘s most high-profile children, having developed a reputation not only as a recording artist but also a producer and co-founder with his brothers of the charitable Ghetto Youths International record label
Julian Marley plays District on Saturday, August 20, doors at 8pm.
