Immix Ensemble and Ex-Easter Island Head are joining together for a special show at Bluecoat in June and Getintothis’ Mike Stanton anticipates a special reunion.
Immix Ensemble was formed by Daniel Thorne in order to work with innovative musicians across the UK, particularly those in the Merseyside region. These collaborations have taken them all over the country playing in unusual and creative spaces such as museums and galleries.
On June 24 they once again team up with critically acclaimed guitar-based musical experimentalists Ex-Easter Island Head at Liverpool’s Bluecoat, the site of their first collaboration. They will be revising and extending their earlier work, performed in 2014, to create a new feature-length piece.
Ex-Easter Island Head are themselves a collective utilising contemporary and traditional instruments in very unconventional and innovative ways.
If their previous concert is anything to go by, this is sure to be a special and immersive experience with each bringing something new and unique.
Support will be provided by ambient soundscapers In Atoms and at just £5 on the door this is a performance not to be missed.
Liverpool Bluecoat June 24 7pm Tickets £5.
