The inaugural Skeleton Coast Festival is revealed, Getintothis Craig MacDonald has all the details about the new Wirral event.

The Wytches are to headline new Wirral festival Skeleton Coast on Saturday August 6 at Hoylake Parade, a month before their second album, All Your Happy Life, is due to be released via Heavenly Recordings on September 30.

Joining surf psych trio The Wytches are the escape-pop magnificence of By The SeaThe Stairs front man, Edgar Summertyme Jones and Glastonbury-conquoring She Drew The Gun‘s singer Louisa Roach plays a solo outing.

Formed in Peterborough and now based in Brighton, The Wytches will be playing new material plus cuts from their debut album Annabel Dream, with the long player having been produced by recent GIT Award winner Bill Ryder-Jones.

The stellar lineup includes fellow Skeleton Key troubadour Marvin Powell, retro rock and rollers The Wicked Whispers and the ambient delights of Minnetonka joining Rory Wynne, Jo Mary and Bathymetry at the inaugural event.

Fresh from stunning revelers at The GIT Award, Rongorongo will also be joining the party, as will Tom Low, The Floormen, Psycho Comedy, The Mysterines and Buffalo Riot. The festival has been organised by Skeleton Key Records, Coda Presents, Hoylake Beacon and will run across two stages over the course of the day.

With DJ sets from The Coral and Johnny Thieves, an array of food, clothes, vinyl and craft stalls to see, this has all the ingredients to be a top day down by the seaside. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday.
