With Scroobius Pip hitting Liverpool to talk all things music and podcasts in August, Getintothis’ David Hall gets the lowdown.
Courtesy of Waterstones Liverpool, the spoken word artist and frequent Dan Le Sac collaborator is rolling into Leaf Café on Tuesday, August 9 to present a mini version of his podcast.
Now over 100 episodes old, Scroobius Pip’s Distraction Pieces podcast has welcomed guests including Frank Turner, Killer Mike and Amanda Palmer in just under two years online.
Scroobius Pip has proved himself a diverse artist away from his musical collaborations, not only curating Distraction Pieces podcast but running his own record label and presenting an award-winning show on Radio X, The Beatdown.

As well as presenting a live podcast, Pip offers fans a Q&A session and book signing at the session, in which he could well face questions regarding his Facebook-posted comments regarding past attendance at his Liverpool shows.
In October 2014, Pip posted a lengthy message on the social media site, starting a well reasoned discussion on why ticket sales for Liverpool shows seem to be so far behind other cities despite there being uproar when Liverpool was left off his previous tour. “Basically, Liverpool will be left off more and more tours the more the locals don’t support live music,” Pip said. “Its a mind blowing one as…well…IT’S LIVERPOOL! An amazing city with such a heritage in music.”
Scroobius Pip will appear at Leaf Café on Tuesday, August 9 at 7pm. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £6.
