The Dead 60s

As the much-loved Liverpool four piece roll back the years and announce a one-off hometown reunion, GetintothisDavid Hall looks ahead to Spring 2017.

After an eight-year absence, The Dead 60s are overdue for a return to the live fold on April 14 at Liverpool’s O2 Academy.

Back in 2005, you could barely move for scouse ska-punk heroes The Dead 60s. From their breakthrough hit Riot Radio to their Deltasonic-released self-titled debut album arcing perilously close to the UK top 20, they seemed on the cusp of great things.

Their 2 Tone-influenced sound and strong local support buttressed a string of successful singles and even propelled The Dead 60s into their own signature limited edition Fred Perry Harrington jackets. Modern day modfathers indeed.

At the height of their powers they even scored a string of prestigious support dates for acts including bands such as Kasabian, Snow Patrol and Stereophonics.

Their follow-up album Time To Take Sides failed to live upto its predecessors’ promise, forcing a split in 2008. The lads are geared up to get back into the swing of things however, returning with a comeback gig in Liverpool, which may turn into a full-blown UK tour.

Update:

Unfortunately due to “personal commitmentsThe Dead 60s have since cancelled their April tour including their gig at O2 Academy Liverpool.
