Marsicans

Marsicans

Marsicans

Emerging Leeds indie-pop band Marsicans wowed this summer’s festival circuit with their energetic and hugely joyful live shows. Earworm pop-hooks and all the thrashing guitar licks you could wish for, quite simply unmissable live. Catch them in intimate venues whilst you can.

Luxury Death

Luxury Death

Signed to the wonderful PNKSLM, lo-fi scuzzers Luxury Death simply have to be on your radar. Pockets of droning synth and fuzzing guitars on tracks such as Radiator Face have led to rave reviews coming out of their brief flurry of live dates a few months back. More EPs and singles are promised, so next year could well be there break-out year.

BlackWaters

Hailing from Guildford, riotous young punk-rockers BlackWaters are busy having fun, creating and evolving their own sound. Ferocious indie infused punk in angst-ridden, youthful slices. The most notable of which is Carl Barat produced single So Far Out, for fans of Drenge and The Wytches.

Nilufer Yanya

23 year-old Londoner Nilufer Yanya has a big future ahead if her shimmering debut is anything to go by. Sometimes huge power can be found in a sound so meditative, so quiet, so compelling. Single Keep On Calling is a rather special, stunning pocket of sound, the sort you’d pop the lid on and never let out again for fear of losing it forever. Pure bliss.

Let’s Eat Grandma

We first introduced wonderous duo Let’s Eat Grandma in March, they’ve since toured the country, appeared on national TV and received endless praise, features and radio-play. They’re quite simply one of the most fun outfits to breakthrough in decades. Essentially a dark, trance-like, twisting magical roundabout of joyous innovation. If you were to log just one tip, make sure it’s this one. See Let’s Eat Grandma at all costs – once you’ve entered their world, you may never return. Bon voyage.

Live At Leeds takes place at various venues across Leeds on Saturday April 29 with over 100 more artists TBA.
