Shellac

Shellac visit the UK this autumn and Getintothis’ Will Neville welcomes the return of the hardcore legends.

It’s news to keep you going all summer. Shellac are on their way back to tour the UK this year,

The Chicago three piece are led by Steve Albini, formerly of the seminal post-hardcore bands Big Black and Rapeman, and engineer of countless classic records, including the likes of Nirvana, Pixies, The Wedding Present, Low and PJ Harvey.

Albini is joined by Bob Weston on bass and drummer Todd Trainer, with the same line-up having released five studio albums since first getting together in 1992, most recently 2014’s Dude Incredible.

They have regularly visited the UK over the years, but this tour including a date in Manchester brings what appears to be their first ever gig in the North West, so this is sure to be a must-see event on the autumn gig calendar.

Support on most of the dates comes from up-and-coming Glaswegian electronic act Iona Fortune, but the lucky attendees in Dublin will instead get to see the experimental trio led by the legendary Mike Watt (from Minutemen and fIREHOSE, and more recently The Stooges), ll Sogno Del Marinaio.
