As FOCUS Wales reveals its first acts for next year’s festival, Getintothis’ Cath Bore sees some familiar favourites along with new blood.

FOCUS Wales 2019 international showcase festival, which will take place in Wrexham, North Wales across May 16-18 has unveiled an impressive initial line up of homegrown and international talent.

The festival has developed a reputation for booking fresh new acts before they break, and 2019 is already looking to carry on that tradition.

The Welsh Music Prize 2018 shortlisted Boy Azooga and Seazoo will appear, as well as Welsh icons Islet plus Sock, Art School Girlfriend and newcomers Red Telephone.

Liverpool’s very own Katie Mac makes a return to the festival and previous Merseyside residents I See Rivers are also on the bill.

50% of new guitarists are female: She Drew The Gun, Girl Ray and Adwaith discuss

From further afield, BC Camplight, American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brian Christinzio is due to play, plus Lancaster’s The Lovely Eggs.
