Sounds From The Other City
A festival celebrating an often forgotten city is returning next year, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley reports on Sounds From The Other City 2020.
An underground favourite since 2005, Sounds From The Other City will return to its home of Salford next year.
Priding itself on championing local promoters and celebrating the somewhat overlooked city of Salford, the 2020 event will take place throughout the festival’s spiritual home of Chapel Street.
Sounds From The Other City will see the city the community embrace a festival of art, new music and culture.
It’s organised by promoters and creatives from Salford, with a little help from neighbouring Manchester.
Last year’s fifteenth birthday was celebrated with Gabe Gurnsey, The Orielles, Black Country New Road and the Mercury-prize nominated Black Midi.
Acts, venues and events for 2020 are yet to be confirmed, but tickets are already being snapped up.
