POZI

As we all observe some form of the lockdown, POZI have been working on some new material and Getintothis’ Nathan Scally has had a sneak peek.

We’ve all faced restrictions and limitations from daily life during 2020, but POZI have spent that time devising and creating a video to accompany their latest single The Nightmare.

Never one for conforming to the easy sounds of the mainstream, the post-punk trio have returned with their latest work right when we need new music the most.

Locked away from each other, POZI found a way to share their creativity remotely and create a music video from their own homes.

“The nightmare is real”, chanted over and over again throughout the track puts the populations thought’s into melody as we all wade through 2020 together.

In a year that’s seen so much pain, POZI have tackled the challenge and brought more art into our lives.

Filmed by their housemates, and directed and animated by Alfie Dwyer, the video captures the chaotic energy that COVID-19 has forced us all to confront over the last few months.

This track is the musification of the claustrophobia and creativity many of us are feeling right now, showing off the best of our artists and how they can tackle any challenge.

This defiance in the face of COVID-19 is included with a raft of artists recording and releasing new music throughout this period, including big names like Blossoms and Kylie Minogue.

The Nightmare is the lead single from upcoming EP 176, due to be released July 3 from PRAH Recordings, and you can watch the new video here.
