More acts for FOCUS Wales are unveiled on top of those named in November, here’s Getintothis’ Cath Bore with the details.

FOCUS Wales boasts an impressive line up of new and emerging artists this year, with Getintothis Deep Cuts alumni Peaness and Alpha Male Tea Party, alongside Welsh artists Dan Bettridge, Seazoo  and HMS Morris now confirmed.

There’s a slew of new music from across Wales, the UK and across the world, including Dutch band Canshaker Pi on the back of their success at Eurosonic 2018.

HMS Morris, Seazoo  and Bettridge are recipients of the Launchpad fund, part of BBC Wales and Arts Council of Wales’ support for fresh talent.

There’s performances from well established names as well, such as former Boo Radley Martin Carr.

Total legend Euros Childs, GIT Award 2016 winner Bill Ryder-Jones and Welsh Music Prize 2017 winner The Gentle Good were announced earlier, in addition to new Heavenly Recordings signings Boy Azooga, Jane Weaver, and This Is The Kit.

The first keynote speaker for the FOCUS Wales 2018 conference has been revealed as former Flaming Lips drummer and percussionist Kliph Scurlock. Now firmly a Cardiff resident, Scurlock has performed with Gulp, and former Welsh Music Prize winners Gwenno and Gruff Rhys.

Early Bird festival tickets are now sold out, and standard Festival Passes are now on sale.

FOCUS Wales 2018 takes place May 10-12 across multiple venues in Wrexham, North Wales.
