Rock behemoths Genesis have announced details of their upcoming reformation and subsequent UK tour, Getintothis’ Steven Doherty has all the news.

One of the most successful UK bands of all time, Genesis have announced that they are to reform for their first tour together in 13 years.

The trio, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks, are to be joined on stage by the band’s unofficial fourth member, bassist/guitarist Daryl Stuermer and Nic Collins (Phil’s son) taking his dad’s place on drums, as he can no longer play due to nerve damage obtained from their last tour.

The tour, entitled The Last Domino?, sees them take in 9 different venues including two nights at London O2 Arena, and fresh dates have now been added to take in multiple nights around the country, due to demand.

This will also include two North West dates at the respective Arenas in both Liverpool and Manchester.

They last reunited for a stadium tour back in 2007, which saw them play across the world.

The trio, who have been together as a threesome since 1976, have sold over 100 million albums, and although there are no plans to add to their extensive back catalogue, the demand for new material will now grow.

They had previously stated that a reunion couldn’t happen as “getting everybody in the same place at the same time is impossible.”

Of the upcoming dates, Collins Snr says “We all felt, why not? It sounds like a lame reason but we enjoy each other’s company and we enjoy playing together.”

The dates in full are:

November 16: Dublin 3 Arena
November 19: Belfast SSE Arena
November 23/24: Liverpool M & S Bank Arena
November 26/27: Newcastle Utilita Arena
November 29/30: London O2 Arena
December 2/3: Leeds First Direct Arena
December 5: Birmingham Utilita Arena
December 8/9: Manchester Arena
December 11/12: Glasgow SSE Hydro
