Let’s Eat Grandma

Teen electro-pop duo and recent Transgressive Records signees Let’s Eat Grandma are causing quite a stir, Getintothis’ Jake Marley provides the lowdown on Norfolk’s new musical stars.

Introducing Let’s Eat Grandma. A duo barely out of school who boast a completely wacked-out name and slice after slice of deliciously evil songwriting. Playful pop twist after synth groove kiss. Multi-instrumentation at the double. Equally as disturbing as sensually innocent.

The Norwich girls, both still in their teens, continue to bewilder the music world with brooding electronics and hazy vocal shimmers. There’s two seats saved at St Vincent’s table of mind-bending musical obscurity for these two and that’s strong praise. It’s deserved mind, they’ve got everyone hook, line and sinker with honest pop purity about the deeper meaning behind unblocking sinks and what not.

Where they go from here will be interesting, sold out live shows are already coming thick and fast and Transgressive Records have clearly got the bit between their teeth with these two and who could blame them.

In terms of what you can get your teeth stuck into, new release Sink; a strange and captivating electronic soundscape, is the b-side to new single Deep Six Text Book, out March 18th, their first release since signing with Transgressive Records. The evil-pop majesty continues…jump aboard!
