People Under the Stairs

As the hip hop stars prepare to make a long awaited return to Liverpool, Getintothis’ Adam McAleavey explores how they first wrote their name into hip hop folklore.

People Under The Stairs are set to make their first appearance in Liverpool for over 8 years on May 14 at the Kazimier since two sell-out shows that were widely regarded as two of the best hip-hop gigs to ever take place in the city.
People Under The Stairs to many represent the essence of the independent hip-hop sound, culture and lifestyle. Thes One and Double K have become independent west coast music icons. Since rising through the ranks of the golden indie era in the late 90s with albums such as The Formation and The Next Step, the duo continued to make straight up classics at the turn of the century with Question in the Form of an Answer and O.S.T. Today, they are regarded as legends of west coast hip-hop.
In what is set to be another hip-hop sure shot in one of the city’s finest venues, People Under The Stairs and their renowned live show will be supported by one of the UK’s finest and most enigmatic MCs in the form of Burgundy Blood, ahead of a run of sold out shows with the Wu-Tang Clan.
With Madnice & Bam!Bam!Bam! once again joining forces to bring this world exclusive show to Liverpool, anyone who’s ever got down with the independent west coast sound would be a fool to miss this occasion.
