VEYU unveil the final track from their majestic debut EP, Getintothis’ Patrick Clarke takes in the quartet’s latest masterstroke.

The marvellous marriage of visual art to VEYU‘s most adroit of alt-pop offerings are much-talked about when it comes to commenting on the group, yet as their latest video In The Forest makes clear, the duality of their talents are worth reiterating.

The new video (below), boasts a woozy, shoegazing aesthetic – flittering, reticent footage of the band lent veneer by a silhouetting filter of midnight blues and purples.

The tune itself hits home with juxtaposing clarity, the deftest of bass lines courtesy of Ash Hopkins propelling Chris Beesley’s gliding vocals atop the enveloping attack of glistening guitars and keys. At over six minutes, the track backs up its epic feel with an endless invitation of twists and turns.

It’s to be just one of the delights on VEYU‘s upcoming EP, a self-titled effort out November 3 on Baltic Records, with previously self-released tracks Running and Everlasting to appear on vinyl for the first time. The fourth of the record’s tracks, meanwhile, is All That We Know.
