When In Manchester Festival
After their acclaimed launch event in April, new music champions When In Manchester return with a Christmas festival this December, Getintothis Jake Marley has all the details.
When In Manchester festival, the brainchild of four young creatives, is back, and ready to thrust new music into the spotlight under a one-day festival banner. When In Manchester part two will take place at the Ruby Lounge on December 17 with a host of the UK’s hottest new artists and bands taking to the stage.
Over the last few weeks the lineup has taken shape and has now been revealed to include two of the UK’s hottest bands as top attractions in the form of The Amazons and INHEAVEN. However When In Manchester have also snapped up north-west talent in the form of Liverpool’s Natalie McCool and Indigo Moon as well as Manchester’s False Advertising and Carl J. North.
Further north-west ties come in the form of Liver-fax surf-psych trio The Orielles. The lineup for When In Manchester Christmas Extravanganza is completed with new music from further afield via ambient melodies from Bridie Florence, Sheffield four-piece Liberty Ship and formidable Darwen rock ‘n’ rollers Sky Valley Mistress.
Ellen Offredy, Nicole Burrows, Abi Richardson and Miriam Rahimov launched When In Manchester festival last year and the first edition took place in Manchester’s Northern Quarter in April to rave reviews. Keeping young creatives in music, journalism, photography and graphic design at the forefront of their passion is once more the focus with the inclusion of beautiful artwork by multi-creative Stephi LaReine appearing alongside the lineup announcements.
When In Manchester festival is nominated for five awards at this year’s UK Festival Awards and with a shit-hot lineup all set to take over The Ruby Lounge on December 17, we suggest you move quick and snap up the remaining keen bee tickets.
