Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival 2017 has announced its line up and Getintothis’ Miles Etchells has the mouth-watering details.
This year Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival looks to be bigger and better than ever before.
While many festivals will trot out such claims every year, it’s hard to argue against 21-23 July 2017’s offering in the Steel City.
The first wave announcement of acts is mouth-watering, as The Libertines, All Saints, Metronomy and Toots and the Maytals have all been announced as headliners.
If that isn’t enough to make you consider a trip over the Pennines then other great established acts such as The Coral, Twin Atlantic, The Pharcyde, Akala, Don Letts, Jalen N’Gonda, Lucy Spraggan and We Are Scientists have also been confirmed for the second to last weekend of July.
For the music lover keen to discover something new, or see some of the most hyped acts of the year Tramlines doesn’t disappoint. Performances from Cabbage, Estrons, Spring King, The Age of LUNA, Alvarez Kings, Blaenavon, Loyle Carner, Bossy Love, Cate Le Bon, Hot 8 Brass Band, Goat Girl, Fizzy Blood, John Joseph Brill, M.O, Mike Hughes, Nadia Rose, Omar Souleyman, Sheffield’s Sgt Pepper Project, The Magic Gang, The Wharves and Yorkston Thorne Khan ensure that there should be something to see for everyone.
And that’s just during the days and evenings, Tramlines also boasts a whole weekend of ‘After Party’ DJ sets. The city that Alex Turner once sang ‘never wakes up’ actually doesn’t get much sleep this weekend of the year. Sadly it seems that this year a separate ‘After Party’ wristband is needed to access these events, however the line-up is very tempting. Bugzy Malone, Faithless DJ Set, Fuse ODG, TQD, Camo & Krooked lead the first announcement for Tramlines 2017’s brand new after-parties.
And that’s not to mention performances from Mike Skinner, DJ Marky, S.P.Y, Zinc, Coco, Loadstar, Cause & Affect, Donaeo, Barely Legal, DJ Target, Artful Dodger, Gotsome, Kideko, Deadbeat UK, Lowqui, Dr Cryptic, Pedram, Andy H, Carasel, Tippa, Inja, Forca and more who will also appear on the speaker-shaking, genre-busting bill.
The festival runs from Friday July 21 to Sunday July 23, with acts in countless venues spread across the city.

With parks, bars, pubs, and even municipal buildings turning themselves into events spaces, the multitude of excellent established venues in the city have serious company when the festival gets underway.
The city turns into the sort of carnival you’d expect to see in Brazil or Holland rather than South Yorkshire, and this writer loves it. Tha knows!
