A full 2017 programme has been unveiled for the Liverpool festival including an exciting opening party, exclusive pre-festival gig and film programme, as GetintothisDavid Hall reports.

Liverpool Psych Fest have unveiled their full programme of daytime events and installations for the 2017 festival, plus launch events, an opening party and month long film and arts exhibits in the build up to this year’s event.

The Musings In Drone symposia during the festival will feature Q&As and exclusive new virtual reality installations and an immersive late night audio visual experience will also feature in the festival programme.

On Saturday August 26, two events in Liverpool will herald 27 Days To Destruction, and is set to include a headline show for Pond at The Invisible Wind Factory with support from Warm Digits and Chris Forsyth with the Solar Motel Band.

On the same day, a month-long art show will open in Bold Street Coffee, charting the build up to this year’s festival the print show develops on the key visual themes and ideas present across this year’s aesthetic.

PZYK DJs will be in store on the afternoon of Saturday September 26 spinning vinyl to celebrate the exhibition’s opening.

KLF in Liverpool: Throwing some light on the Dark Ages

Leading up to the 2017 festival, PZYK have partnered with FACT and Picturehouse to present a special season of Psychedelia In Film, with screenings on August 30, then September 6, 14 and 21 at FACT.

The screenings will be accompanied, by specially curated PZYK playlists in the Picturehouse bar, plus Q&As at select events.

The Fabulous Baron Munchausen and PZYK Shorts and other psychedelic offerings will feature in the season of movies with FACT and Picturehouse and installations from visual artists Rachel Maclean, Sophia Al Maria, Laure Provost and Agnieska Polska, amongst others.

The PZYK opening party on Thursday September 21 at Constellations will see Real Estate’s Matt Mondanile bring his Ducktails project to Liverpool, joined by Strange Collective‘s Ali Horn and Goa Express.
