Liverpool band Circa Waves have announced a homecoming date at EBGBs, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley has the info.

Circa Waves are set to play EBGBs on  April 5 before they embark on festival appearances over the summer.

The intimate event will be brought to the city by Jack Daniel’s, who continue to support independent music. 100% of the ticket price will go to the Music Venue Trust, a charity aiming to protect the longevity of the UK’s independent venues.

The Magnet to end music gigs as Liverpool loses another venue

The show is part of a three-date, mini-tour which includes Peace at Birmingham’s Sunflower Lounge and Band of Skulls at Southampton’s The Joiners.

Mark Davyd, CEO of the Music Venue Trust, commented: “We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Jack Daniel’s with these fantastic Homecoming shows which are a vital part of the nationwide Fightback by grassroots music venues, artists and audiences. Working together we can stop closures, secure a long-term future for venues, and start to improve Britain’s grassroots circuit.”

The announcement follows this weeks’ release of the Liverpool Music Strategy which revealed major flaws in Liverpool’s music industry, whilst presenting that live music accounts for 44% of music sector turnover in the city, as opposed to an average of 23% for the UK.

Tickets for the shows go on sale on Friday, March 2.
