Go-Kart Mozart to play Liverpool

Lawrence

Indie legend Lawrence brings Go-Kart Mozart to Liverpool this autumn and Getintothis’ Cath Bore is already practicing her happy dance in preparation for the big night.

Lawrence is coming to Liverpool.

What a beautiful sentence that is.

The former front man of Felt and Denim will play a rare as hen’s teeth date in the city with his current band Go-Kart Mozart.

In 2016 Lawrence of Belgravia, the long awaited documentary dedicated to Lawrence’s rocky path to pop stardom was released after a number of stops and starts. Directed by Paul Kelly, it was years in the making.

Described as the greatest music documentary ever made, and rightfully so, pleasingly it was followed earlier this year by reissues of the first five Felt albums and a new long player from Go-Kart Mozart, Mozart’s Mini-Mart.

The band has released live date details on an almost weekly basis over the past few months.

Don’t expect a trawl through Lawrence’s back catalogue when he comes to town though; the evening will be Go-Kart Mozart songs only. Taking a year zero approach with each project he’s led, at his recent show at Trades Club in Hebden Bridge, demands for Denim’s Summer Smash were met with the flat unimpressed response from the man: ‘You’ve got the wrong band.’
