The Hyundai Mercury Prize 2018

The Hyundai Mercury Prize nominees are out, Getintothis’ Peter Guy on this year’s critics choice albums.

The Hyundai Mercury Prize shortlist has been revealed with Arctic Monkeys leading the shortlist with their fourth nomination.

Among the other nominees are Noel Gallagher and the High Flying BirdsLily Allen with her first nomination and newcomer Jorja Smith.

The Mercury, now in it’s 26th year, recognises the UK’s best albums from the last calendar year.

If anyone’s interested our Predictometer had a pretty off year with just five correct nominations. Can’t win ’em all eh? Oh, and if anyone is remotely interested – Nadine Shah for the win.
