Legendary Liverpool group Ladytron announce a gig at Manchester’s Ritz, Getintothis’ Max Richardson brings you the latest news on their return to the stage.
With the February release of their sixth, self-titled studio album receiving a very warm reception from critics and fans alike, live audiences will be anxious to hear the new material – and old favourites – translated to the big stage.
Following their homecoming gig late last year at Liverpool’s O2 Academy, their first Merseyside date in seven years, the group are now seemingly paying attention to another seemingly forgotten city, with their newly announced Manchester date the first since an appearance at the Academy in November 2008.
This is the band’s first Manchester show in ten years and sees the band team up once again with Liverpool-based promoters EVOL.
The sensational electro-pop quartet have released six studio albums to boot, fusing elements of electronic music with genres including shoegaze. Expect lush, creamy synth sounds mixed with poingant vocals and lyrics.
Following a hiatus after the release of 2011’s Gravity The Seducer, the group have returned with a bang with the 2019 Ladytron, a sensational record.
The latest album spawned three singles, The Animals, The Island, and Far From Home, which will be great to hear performed live.
Support on the night will come from Manchester outfit LIINES.
