Yellowman brings his pioneering dancehall style to Liverpool and GetintothisWill Whitby reveals the rhythmic details. 

Kingston ragga don Yellowman is coming to Liverpool thanks to promoters Positive Vibrations as they bring him to Liverpool this August 31 to play 24 Kitchen Street.

The Zungguzungguguzungguzeng star and self-proclaimed “King of Dancehall” comes to Merseyside during his UK tour where he will play London, Cardiff, Exeter and Brighton with Liverpool being his most Northern date. 

An early pioneer of reggae and dancehall the Jamacian was known as the rudest dancehall toaster in the 80s with his bodacious tracks I’m Getting Married in the Morning and Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt getting him world-wide acclaim.

His work has earned him two Grammy nominations as well as an Order of Distinction for his contribution to Jamacian music and culture.

Support comes from one of Liverpool’s oldest and most reputable sound systems One A Penny

The tour comes in support of the reggae godfather’s new album No More War released via Yellow Baby.
