Leaf on Smithdown – Peter Goodbody

With festival season more or less over over Getintothis’ photographers are looking forward to an autumn of gigs and the busy season.

September sees festival season come to a close across the UK and tour season ramp up.

The beginning of the month saw Fusion and Bingley Festival end the season in style, followed soon after with gig highlights from Yellowman, ZuZu and Rats throwing us straight in the deep end with touring season.

I haven’t been shooting gigs for Getintothis for even a full year, yet the chance to cover big festivals such as Bingley and Fusion were definitely high points. It’s opportunities such as this that really enhance the experience. Moments like these deserve to be put into photos, and these photos into photo books. There is an online service company which prints photobooks for you without much of a hassle. Check out their offers on https://printedmemories.com.

Away from the music we also saw more new venues opening – Leaf on Smithdown and Ten Streets Market.

September is always an eclectic mix of music events across the UK. Our photographers, as ever were on hand to capture as many events as they could to paint a picture of how September’s most memorable gigs and other moments played out.

King Khan gave a typically crazy  performance at The Zanzibar which is reflected perfectly with the photo in the gallery below. Red Rum Club invited us to Parr Street Studio for an interview and a photo opportunity.

At Fetty Wap he got up close and personal with the crowd at The Eventim Olympia as part of his headline tour. That, too was another tick on my bucket list.

If there is one headline point from September’s photos, just by glancing at the gallery you can see the sheer diversity in acts that each photographer loves to cover.

It is what helps keeps this site as a key point of reference for anyone looking to discover new music, art, or anything culture related in the North West and beyond.

With October only getting busier, more bands coming to town even than there were in September. It is set to be an exciting and very full month for all of our photographers.

If you happen to spot one of them at a gig, be sure to say hello… You may even make it into the review’s photo gallery.

I continue to be grateful for the opportunities that come my way as a part of the Getintothis team. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in doing, then give us a shout on our Facebook page or drop a line to Peter, our Live Editor at [email protected]

In the meantime enjoy the photos.  Conor Baxter
