Chromatics announce the release of their new single, Teacher, along with accompanying video. Getintothis’ Emilie Clark lends an ear.
Chromatics have released a brand new video for the single Teacher, which comes from their upcoming album.
As well as releasing new single Teacher, Chromatics have also unveiled the tracklist for Dear Tommy, which will feature 11 unheard songs.
The album and single have long been anticipated by fans of the band, following the success of 2019 album, Closer To Grey.
The single was released as part of a 4-track EP, featuring different versions of the song.
It includes On Film, which features a reduced drumbeat, an instrumental and acapella version.
Chromatics’ music has previously been described as ‘noisy’ and ‘chaotic’ but Teacher takes a softer approach with synth beats that sound as though they’ve come straight from the 1980s.

The track builds into a dreamy electronic soundscape layered with soft, airy vocals that create an ambient undertone.
Using an apple as a metaphor, Johnny Jewel, the band’s producer and multi-instrumentalist, discusses the song’s meaning, and how we can stop passing negativity onto future generations.
