Jo Mary have unveiled a monster lineup for their Meatraffle all day event at Sound, here’s Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley on a night of musical indulgence.

A mighty lineup will assault Sound Basement at the end of this month as psych garage rockers Jo Mary present Sea Bass IV: Deadliest Catch.

It is the fourth event of its kind and a Halloween special to boot, South Londoners Meatraffle bag the headline slot. Led by by trumpet playing vocalist Zsa Zsa Sapien, they played Liverpool Psych Fest last year and its Manchester counterpart a few weeks ago.

They’re joined by Jo Mary themselves, while Eyesore and The Jinx will strike up at around midnight. You’d be forgiven for thinking that’s that, and a five act lineup would suffice for any Saturday night. But there’s more, much more, actually.

Mental health, music and me: my very own vinyl revival

Wild Fruit Art Collective will typically ensue chaos along with Runcorn outfit SPILT ,and Mold who released their new EP The Death Suite earlier this month.

Salford’s Starlight Magic Hour are involved too with genre-evading Ill, who sternly declare they believe in the power of disobedient noise.

The Deep Cuts-featured Bill Nickson performed at the very first Sea Bass night, so it is only right he does so on this mammoth occasion. The Wirral singer songwriter brings his style of bedroom indie pop to Sound.

The enigmatic Beija Flo will encapsulate the venue, mesmerising vibrations combined with wit and humour, while post-punkers Uncle Jane will also drop in.

And it’s still not over. Hannah and The Wick effect add to their plethora of recent gigs. Samurai Kip are the last of an equally extensive list of bands set to play on October 27.

With advance tickets just £10, it may be one of the true feasts of the music calendar.
