Tom Walker sells out big venues, Getintothis’ Courtney Hughes has him sorted at Liverpool’s Olympia

 Brit Awards?

Best Breakthrough Act?

2019 Tom Walker performed in Liverpool’s Olympia venue this evening, following the release of his debut album in March entitled What a Time to Be Alive.

Tom Walker is a singer-songwriter from Scotland, whose genre of music has been described as indie-pop. His journey to fame started in 2017 after the release of his single Heartland as he was then added to BBC Radio1s Brit List.

Later in 2017 Walker released Leave the Light On which blew up the charts and was nominated for Best British Single.

To start the excitement for the night, British Singer-Songwriter Lily Moore wowed the crowd with her soulful vocals, upbeat rhythms and relatable lyrics.

The majority of Lily’s original pieces were about love and romance which was not surprising considering she is signed by the same record label as Taylor Swift.

Having never heard of Lily before this event, Getintothis were rather impressed with her performance. Her talent is undeniable and her fun personality shone when she admitted to the crowd that:

1. She was drinking tea whilst performing and

2. She had actually knocked her cup of tea over.

After a successful warming up of the crowd from Lily, Tom Walker took the spotlight and had everyone jumping from the very start.

The energy from the room was incredible and Tom made sure the crowd was giving their best by making the room sing lines of his songs back to him.

The stage decoration and lighting made an enchanting performance.

Walker’s music was is both fun and meaningful, which is rare considering today, raps about sex, drugs and violence conquer the charts.

He has a very impressive and unique set of vocals and therefore the performance was enticing from start to finish.

Tom Walker has also recently released tickets for his Home Run Acoustic tour 2020 which amazingly sold out in seconds.

Sadly, the singer will not be returning to Liverpool for this tour but will be playing in Manchester’s Night and Day Cafe.
