Flat Worms release new album produced by noise monger Steve Album and Getintothis’ Danni King has the news.

LA-based punk trio, Flat Worms release their new album Antarctica on April 10 on Drag City imprint, GOD? Records.

Following up from their 2019 EP release Into the Iris, Antarctica is their first studio album since their self-titled debut Flat Worms in 2017.

First releasing lead single Market Forces in early February, the trio released The Aughts on March 26 to tease the album further.

The Aughts was recorded in one take at Electrical Audio and was written by guitarist and vocalist Will Ivy. Accompanied by a fitting video filmed in Flat Worms’ own rehearsal place and throughout downtown LA, directed by Ava Warbrick and Monroe Robertson.

Engineered by outspoken producer Steve Albini, and mixed at Electrical Audio recording studios in collaboration with Albini and Ty Segall, Antarctica was recorded and mixed within six days.

Ivy describes the intentions and themes behind the record, “Isolation is one of the main themes on this record, with the hope that by expressing this feeling of loneliness, we collectively feel less isolated. As we all are required to stay in our homes and quarantine all over the world, we hope this record serves as a message of solidarity.

METZ talk new album, Steve Albini and how they’re insanely hungry to play Liverpool

It appears Antarctica is coming just at the right time, fitting perfectly with the current crisis we’re all facing, and hopefully providing great new music to isolate to.
