In what will no doubt be one of the biggest gigs in the Liverpool calendar this year, Getintothis’ Adam Lowerson anticipates Foals’ Olympia date.

Foals have announced a date at the Liverpool Olympia on November 6 as a part of an intimate Autumn UK tour, in what will be one of the most talked about gigs of the year. The run of dates comes in support of the Oxford band’s upcoming fourth album What Went Down, which will be released on August 28.

The new record, which will be released on Transgressive Records, is one of the most anticipated LPs of 2015, and has so far been preceded by three singles, title track What Went Down, Mountain At My Gates and A Knife In the Ocean. The first, What Went Down, has been one of the biggest tracks of 2015 so far, racking up nearly two million plays on YouTube as well as being named the Hottest Record in the World at the time by Radio One.

The forthcoming date sees the five piece return to Liverpool for the first time in nearly two years, having performed a sell out show at the Arts Club back in February of 2014, in what was one of the biggest gigs in the city that year.

Foals have become huge favourites on the Liverpool live scene over the years with their impressive live performances, and have played many memorable shows in the city including one at the Kazimier back in 2010 in support of their Total Life Forever LP.

Tickets for all dates go on sale on August 21 at 9am.
