Maxïmo Park take it outside with new album and Liverpool date for 2014

North eastern literary rockers head to Liverpool with a new album and lease of life.

Although coming to prominence on the back of the growth of British indie at the turn of the century, Maxïmo Park were always a tad more witty, introspective and musically adventurous than some of their peers.
From the ramshackle perseverance of debut single Apply Some Pressure, the group have gone from strength to strength, quietly making available a solid body of work.
As well as announcing the February 2014 release of fifth LP Too Much Information, Maxïmo Park are preparing for a national tour that alights at Liverpool’s O2 Academy on Monday March 10.
A deluxe version of Too Much Information will be released, featuring a five track EP of covers from artists such as The Fall, Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Nick Drake and Mazzy Star.
Hear their cover of Cohen’s Lover, Lover, Lover below.
