Rosenblume

Ahead of his EP launch at Leaf this week, Getintothis’ Emma Walsh tunes into the stirring new title track from Rosenblume’s All Through the Fire, All Through the Rain.

The debut EP from Rosenblume, aka Daniel Rosshas been quite the labour of love with two years in the making, but if title track All Through the Fire, All Through the Rain, is anything to go by, it will have been worth every effort.

There’s a vitality to the resonance of acoustic guitar and bright-eyed, bushy-tailed strain of folk that blooms at the hands of troubadour Rosenblume. Drawing on an tender narrative of devotion, the honeyed tones of the vocals sweeten the sentiment further, creating an unadulterated lovelorn melody. In that sense there’s a pop factor to this track; it’s nice, it’s pleasant, it’s easy. It will not draw you into any existential crisis of conscience. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who life their brew a little sweet, Rosenblume is just the ticket.

The EP All Through the Fire, All Through the Rain is released on April 27 with a launch night at Bold Street’s Leaf on Thursday night. Support on the night comes from the sensational Highfields and Tiz McNamara.
