Nightmares on Wax

With the ever evolving sounds of Nightmares on Wax set to return to the airwaves in the new year, Getintothis’ Gary Aster is on countdown for his arrival.

Nightmares on Wax return to Liverpool, with full live band, for an unmissable evening at Invisible Wind Factory on February 9.

The DJ, remixer, producer and mainstay of the pioneering Warp Records label returns to Liverpool in support of the forthcoming release of his long-awaited new album Shape the Future, which promises to be another master-class in genre-blending floor-fillers, with influences ranging from soul, hip-hop, dub and contemporary electronica.

It’ll be the Leeds-based musician’s eighth studio album, following up from 2013’s acclaimed Feelin’ Good, although the wait has been punctuated with the release of several acclaimed DJ mixes.

Top Ten rudest blues songs ever

The album’s first single, Back to Nature, paves the way with a chilled vibe and socially and environmentally conscious themes, not to mention a very trippy accompanying video. This is all grist to the mill for Nightmares on Wax fans of course, whose reaction to the new track has been overwhelmingly positive, although characteristically, ahem, ‘laid back’ shall we say.

But fans will need to get a move on to get their groove on if they don’t want to miss out on what promises to be another fine evening for discerning punters at the Invisible Wind Factory. The Liverpool show is one of a small number of UK dates for this well-established artist with a loyal following whose most recent previous visits to our fair city sold out well in advance.

Nightmares on Wax full tour dates are:

Feb 1 – Concorde2, Brighton
Feb 2 – Koko, London
Feb 3 – Belgrave, Leeds
Feb 6 – District 8, Dublin
Feb 7 – Gorilla, Manchester
Feb 8 – Hare, Birmingham
Feb 9 – Invisible Wind Factory, Liverpool
Feb 10 – SWG3, Glasgow
